OrderCloud Tenant-Specific Permissions

Sitecore Organization Administrators now have the option to allow specific Role Groups in their OrderCloud tenant access features previously reserved exclusively for Sitecore Organization Administrators. Any new tenants created after this release will automatically get all of these permissions turned on for their default "Full Access" and "Admin" role groups. Existing tenant permissions will remain unchanged, and Sitecore Organization Administrators of these tenants will be able to enable one or more of these permissions on the Role Groups they deem appropriate. Outlined below is the new list of all available permission checkboxes for each Role Group:

1. Role Groups Administrator

   • Users will be able to control the permissions of every role group. Sitecore Organization admins will always have the ability to manage Role Groups. The Full Access and Admin groups will have this enabled by default.

2. Self-Service Indexing

   • Allows indexing Products and Orders on command.

3. Self-Service Syncs

   • Allows triggering Product, Order, and Entity sync operations on command.

4. Self-Service Subscriptions

   • Allows processing Subscriptions on command.

5. Staging Restore Webhook Administrator

   • Allows users configure the marketplace Staging Restore endpoint. Only relevant for OrderCloud Marketplaces in Staging.

6. Impersonate Sellers (unchanged)

7. Impersonate Suppliers (unchanged)

8. Impersonate Buyers (unchanged)

• Buyers and Buyer User Groups are now available in the Entity Sync feature, originally released in v1.0.30. Read more about Entity Synchronization here.

Rules Engine Expression Builder

Writing custom rule-based expressions in OrderCloud just got easier with the addition of the Rules Engine Expression Builder. Quickly visualize expressions, create approval rule expressions, leverage starter recipes, and concatenate multiple parameters into a promotional query using the new tool.

The team is looking into the ability to parse an existing OrderCloud expression into the query builder format for editing. Stay tuned for future releases.

Self-service tools

Introducing a set of self-service tools for some of our most requested features that will enable you to manage your marketplace without OrderCloud dev support.

This latest update is only available to Sitecore Cloud users who have (1) Sitecore OrderCloud marketplace available in their organization and (2) Are marketplace admins.

Product sync and Order sync

These tools are now also available in the Sitecore OrderCloud Portal under Self-service (note: these tools are still available in the previous OrderCloud Portal)

Changes

• With this new addition, we have consolidated the location of Index tools as well as Subscriptions tools (previously on the dashboard) under the new Self-service page.

Bug Fixes

• Resolved an error that was causing the UI to crash on certain Resource Detail pages (example: Delivery Configuration Detail Page)

This release includes a brand new way to explore the OrderCloud API. Sitecore Cloud users are now able to browse their OrderCloud data through an unopinionated user interface. There is nearly full coverage of administrative CRUD and assignment APIs (non shopper endpoints) with a few exceptions that are outlined in the roadmap below.

This latest update is only available to Sitecore Cloud users who have a Sitecore OrderCloud marketplace available in their organization.

Sitecore OrderCloud Portal

• This is a new web application available for Sitecore Cloud Portal users.

• New Sitecore Organizations and their corresponding Sitecore OrderCloud Portal marketplaces will be provisioned for Sitecore customers after signing a contract.

• Sitecore Partners can request new Sitecore OrderCloud Portal marketplace for new or existing Sitecore Organizations through their Partner Manager.

• Sitecore Organization Owners and Administrators can manage permissions for each OrderCloud application role through the new Roles interface in this web application.

• Sitecore Cloud Portal users with sufficient permissions can access the API console and Index Tools within the new web application. These are slightly modified and improved from their original OrderCloud Portal counterparts (API Console and Search Tools, respectively).

Changes

• Original OrderCloud Portal (portal.ordercloud.io) no longer supports login with Sitecore.

• Original OrderCloud Portal is now exclusively for OrderCloud marketplaces that are NOT associated with a Sitecore Organization. All marketplaces that were provisioned prior to this release are still accessible through the same user experience. Over time, production clients will be migrated to the Sitecore Cloud Portal ecosystem.

If login with Sitecore was your main way of accessing the original OrderCloud Portal (portal.ordercloud.io) before the release, you will have to reset your password using the "forgot password" flow on the login page in order to regain access to your account.

• The Marketplace Detail > Connections user experience was removed. Tracking Events are now configured via the Delivery Configuration API.

• Introduces a self-service tool for viewing and rebuilding your premium search indexes. Read more about the new portal feature here

• The OrderCloud Portal now supports single-sign-on with Sitecore Cloud identities. If you have a Sitecore Cloud account and an OrderCloud Portal account, you can link the two under OrderCloud Portal > Settings >Authentication > Sitecore Cloud.

This is the initial step of a multi-phased process to formally integrate OrderCloud Portal and Sitecore Cloud. More information on Sitecore Cloud will be shared in the weeks ahead.

Support for OrderCloud Environments

Authentication with Github and/or Google accounts

• Existing Portal Users can now link their account to GitHub and/or Google from their Profile > Authentication settings

• New Users can now alternatively register for the Portal with their GitHub or Google account

Portal Username

• Upon first signing into the updated Portal, you will be asked to provide a new Username (something other than your email address)

• Other portal users will be able to search for you by Name or Username when inviting new Contributors

Organizations

• Organizations created after this release are automatically tied to the OrderCloud Sandbox environment, Production Organizations can be created upon request

• New Organizations no longer need a default API client, security profile, or initial seller/buyer user to be accessed in the API Console

• Transferring and Deleting Organizations are actions that now require 2FA (two-factor authentication), users will need to retrieve a confirmation code from their email to complete these requests

• Organization Admins now have the ability to modify the Organization Name in addition to managing Contributors

• Staging Organizations are restored from Production every Sunday

• Staging Organizations have a new [BETA] Staging Restore Webhook config that can be used to automate re-creating webhook and integration assignments after each Staging restore

Contributors

• New contributors will now receive an invitation to join an organization before it shows up in their organization list

• Contributors with the old Manage Contributors permission now have access to Organization Admin, detailed in the Organization section

• There are three new permissions meant to provide more granular control over which types of users a given contributor can impersonate in the API Console

API Console

• Portal Users are now able to access the entire API Console using only a Seller Organization as context (no need to select API Client or User)

• When using this simplified context, the roles that are granted will match the Contributor data access exactly

• You can still impersonate specific seller, supplier, or buyer users by opening the context selector again (as long as you have the necessary permissions)

Bug Fixes

• There is no longer a delay when applying filters in the API Console

• API Console number fields that should be able to be set to 0 will now accept 0 as an input

• Expired tokens in the API Console will now be properly refreshed before allowing portal users to make API calls

• The API Client Enhanced UI now allows portal users to clear out client secrets

• The API Client Enhanced UI now properly saves changes to OrderCloudIntegrationEventID

• The Webhooks API Client assignment list will no longer remain stale after modifying API Clients

New Portal Navigation!

In preparation for upcoming projects and feature expansion the Portal has been given a new global navigation element in the form of a left-anchored drawer. The dashboard will continue to function as a homepage where we plan on adding more useful widgets in the future. You can view all of your organizations in a table view, sort by multiple columns, and filter on the ones you own. Any of your API Console tabs are now accessible from anywhere in the Portal. Additionally your profile is now nested underneath a Settings tab, as many more settings are to come!

Bug fixes

• API Console pressing Enter to send after filling out some request details would sometimes not send all request details

• Extra long request URLs were eating up all the space in the request tab toolbar

• Proper validation of initial seller/buyer password during Organization Create

• Enhanced UI for API Clients now allows editing of IsAnonBuyer field

The OrderCloud Portal

Previously located at developer.ordercloud.io, we have made the transition to the ReactJS frontend framework - preparing for an entirely new class of tools that will be made available at portal.ordercloud.io throughout 2020 and beyond. Don't be fooled by the new look and location - your account and data remain intact and you can login here.

Once authenticated, you will see a new Portal homepage with two distinct widgets for the API Console and Seller Organizations you own or have access to. We've spent a lot of time making the new API Console the best it can be. You'll notice right away that you now have context-driven tabs! This feature allows you to maintain multiple sessions across any of your organizations. Simply start a new tab, select your context, and start making API calls!

Some aspects of OrderCloud are still limited to your developer- excuse me, portal user; such as managing Seller Organizations and Contributor access. By clicking on a Seller Organization from the homepage widget you will see the interface for managing these settings.

Open Source Documentation

In an effort to increase visibility and community participation in improving how users learn about the platform, we've started our first open source documentation repository - powered by Gatsby.js. If you see something that could be better, simply make a pull request and someone from our team will review your changes!

Our API reference pages are generated using the latest version of the OrderCloud OpenApi 3.0 specification - so improvements to these pages are limited to the internal Sitecore development team. Feel free to ask questions in the community channel.

In addition to this open source approach, we've greatly improved the searchability of our documentation and API reference.

Parallel to these release notes we have an updated location for our API Release Notes, the current API version is visible at the top ordercloud.io and will link you to the latest publicly announced release note. The latest public release note version may not match the current API version, this is because we do not publicly announce every version as some do not include anything perceptible by our users.
